Buckland Tout-Saints Wins 'Hotel of the Year' at Tourism Awards

The luxury William & Mary country house hotel, which sits in more than four acres of gardens and woodland in the Devon South Hams, shared the honours with the Royal Castle Hotel in Dartmouth.

 

The awards, which are in their second year, showcase the very best of the region’s tourism and hospitality sector. Dozens of businesses and individuals were nominated, which were then short-listed by a panel of judges to compete for awards in 14 categories.

 

Hotel of the Year finalists were judged on their commitment to accommodation quality and improvement, along with evidence of creative and effective marketing.

 

Buckland Tout-Saints General Manager Gemma Edmonds said: “We were up against some of the region’s finest hotels so we’re incredibly proud of this achievement. The whole team has worked very hard to make Buckland Tout-Saints the jewel in South Devon’s crown and they thoroughly deserve this award.”

 

The luxury boutique hotel, which is tucked away in a secluded location in its own valley, is just a short drive from the coast and the international sailing centre of Salcombe.

 

It features 16 bedrooms, including two luxury suites, and has an award-winning restaurant renowned for inspirational European menus packed with ingredients delivered daily from local farms and fishing boats.

 

Buckland Tout-Saints is part of the Eden Hotel Collection, which last month was awarded the coveted accolade of AA Small Hotel Group of the Year 2014 / 2015. The collection features nine upmarket luxury hotels located across the South West, Midlands, and the Cotswolds.
